Plot

Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons offers a new take on the Deathstroke legacy. Mercenary and master assassin Slade Wilson leads two lives: one as the relentless killer known as Deathstroke, and the other as a dedicated family man. When these worlds collide, forced

together by the vicious terror group known as H.I.V.E., it is the killer in Slade who must fight to save his loved ones, as well as what remains of himself.

With his soul torn apart and his young son held captive, Deathstroke will have to atone for the sins of his past to fuel the battles of his future!

My Opinion

Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons is an absolute gore fest. I mean, I wasn’t expecting to see bodies explode. I nearly spat out my dinner. If you’re a bit squeemish then avert your eyes for say...90% of the movie. That being said, I thought this movie was enjoyable. I don’t think it’s in the same class as Superman: Red Son or Apokolips War but it’s a definite win if

you like Deathstroke or want to know more about him. Don’t expect an origin movie though, this isn’t that. Whilst we get a brief description of how Slade Wilson became Deathstroke, it isn’t very detailed.

The animation in this movie made me think that I was reading a moving comic, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it totally depends on your opinion of the style. I personally am excited to see the Man of Tomorrow style and for me, this movie took a step back on the animation front, however that didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the movie.

The story is good. I mean...it’s a bit ‘deathy’ and gory but hey, his name is DEATHstroke. It also suffers, for me, from being overly rushed. The story seems to develop at a rapid rate and doesn’t give time to foresee anything. That being said, I thought the inclusion of Jericho, Bronze Tiger and Rose Wilson was brilliant, I did hope to see the family all

standing together in their costumes at the end but you’ll have to watch to see why that doesn’t happen.

Overall I enjoyed the action sequences and character designs and liked the story albeit a developing too fast. I think this is certainly a movie to add to your watch list more so than rushing to watch, but if you are stuck for something to watch or enjoy Deathstroke as a character, then definitely jump into the body exploding, dismembering, killing machine story that is Knights & Dragons.

Be sure to let me know what you think!
