Tommy Oliver, the White Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, has formed a new team of Power Rangers including...the all-new Green Ranger! But just who is under the mask and what does that mean for the future of the team? And the Omega Rangers embark on a new mission to save the universe from the unimaginable threat of the Empyreals. But they’ll need to bring in the last person they ever wanted - the villainous Lord Drakkon. Can their long-time enemy be trusted...or is he playing an even more dangerous game of his own? New York Times best-selling writer Ryan Parrott, along with artists Marco Renna and Francesco Mortarino, present the beginning of an unprecedented new era for the Power Rangers! Collects Mighty Morphin #1 and Power Rangers #1.
I love Power Rangers a lot so I was very excited to read this limited edition. Giving us a look at a wide array of Rangers and villains, this edition promises to continue to be an explosive one full of unimaginable monsters and incredible morphin moments!
Ryan Parrott is a Power Rangers writing legend and he continues that legendary writing ability in this new adventure for Tommy and Co. Tommy as the White Ranger now leads this fresh faced mighty morphin squad that has to combat a giant city destroying panda, old friends, a new green ranger and a new threat in the Empyreals. Can I just say that even though this Green Ranger hasn’t said a thing...he is so cool and looks amazing. The Green Ranger has always been my favourite of the bunch so a return of the dragon coin is a welcome sight, regardless of the knowledge of his/her intentions. Jason and the Omega Rangers have returned to Angel Grove to speak to an upcoming threat and request to take a captured Lord Drakkon with them to combat it. Yeah I know what you're thinking...that is a REALLY bad idea and that’s also what Zordon and his rangers think. What begins is a conflict between each Ranger group as well as each other's conflicts with their respective enemies…
The various artists have done an astounding job of capturing the essence of Ryan’s stories with captivating visuals and an abundance of colour, just what is expected in a Power Rangers comic! The designs of the Empyreals are a real highlight in this story. They have an aura of mystery about them but also look deeply imposing. I can see them being one of the toughest tests for the Rangers since Drakkon and before him, evil Tommy!
I’m very much excited for the continuation of this stunningly special run of one of the most iconic superhero teams of all time.
