I will start with a thank you to PQube games for the opportunity to review this game. As a big big fan of the original Nexomon game on mobile and the games that began the genre, Pokemon, it has been my pleasure to play and review this game.
Visually this game is beautiful, the animation is exquisite. The colours are bright, vibrate and fun. There is plenty to look at on small visible areas which really impressed me. There was so much detail to each area.
Audibly there isn’t much to talk about. There is music but I have to say that i had the sound up initially but soon turned the sound off and played silently, although I tend to turn up for cut scenes.
The story is a massive plus for this game. The makers have really thought about the story and you can easily see that this game was a real labour of love. The story continues from the original mobile game so I urge you to play through that first, although you could probably play through this without first playing the mobile game if mobile gaming isn’t your thing.
Gameplay wise, you will most certainly see similarities to the earlier Pokemon games, therefore, I have very little issues with it. The premise is the game, catch nexomon, grind through levelling up, battle other trainers, heal and repeat. All the while following the story and hoping to come across legendary nexomon. Sometimes it can feel a little repetitive but you can guarantee that you end up coming back to the game as we all did with Pokemon.
I am still going through the game, it’s not a quick game to complete, you definitely get value for money. Make sure you stay tuned to my socials if you’re interested in updates on my playthrough.
I really recommend this game, I love the humour in the story, the story itself is engaging and as a ‘pokemon clone’ goes, I cannot fault it and would go as far as saying that I prefer Nexomon to it’s rivals...controversial I know!
Thank you again to PQube! Nexomon: Extinction is an absolute triumph and I need more!
